"How often do you actually test the chemicals?"
Every visit. Without exception. The digital pool passport means you never have to take our word for it — every number is logged, dated, and yours to keep.
Every service visit includes a full 7-point chemical test: pH, free chlorine, combined chlorine, total alkalinity, calcium hardness, cyanuric acid, and TDS. For maintenance contracts, this happens weekly. Results are logged in your digital pool passport and available on request.
Surface skimming, brush walls and floor, vacuum debris, empty baskets (pump and skimmer), backwash filter if required, chemical balance adjustment, and a written log entry. Visits take 45–90 minutes depending on pool size.
Yes - and winter is when neglect does the most damage. Cold water slows algae but doesn't stop it. Rain carries organic matter and drops pH fast. We maintain weekly schedules year-round, adjusting chemical doses for seasonal water temperature.
Every client receives access to a digital pool log - a running record of every test result, chemical addition, and service note. It's useful for body corporate compliance audits and useful evidence if a health complaint is ever raised.
"Am I actually liable if someone gets sick in my pool?"
Yes. Under South African common law, the owner of a property owes a duty of care to anyone lawfully using it. A pool with incorrect chemical levels — whether too low (bacteria) or too high (chemical burns) — is a foreseeable hazard.
The City of Cape Town's Environmental Health directorate has the authority to issue prohibition notices for non-compliant recreational water. Body corporates in Sea Point received 14 such notices in 2024 alone.
